SDA appealing penalty rates cuts for retail, fast food & pharmacy workers in court

SDA appealing the Fair Work decision to cut penalty rates.

The Fair Work Commission’s decision to cut penalty for retail, fast food and pharmacy workers covered by Awards is unfair – we want it stopped.

It will devastate thousands of hard-working Australians in retail, fast food and pharmacy– making it harder for you and your family to get by.

It’s not just retail, fast food and pharmacy workers covered by Awards who will be impacted by these cuts – eventually, it will reduce the fair wages SDA members have bargained for over many years in Agreements too.

That’s why we’re calling for a judicial review of the decision – to stop the cuts from coming into effect.

Retail, fast food and pharmacy workers directly affected stand to lose up to $6,000 per year because of this decision.

The SDA is continuing to fight to protect your take-home pay because penalty rates are not a luxury they put food on the table and petrol in the car.

We need you to take action too, join the campaign now at www.protectpenaltyrates.org.au.

We will continue to update you as the judicial review progresses.
